Rex Hudler was born on September 2nd, 1960, in Tempe, Arizona. He attended Bullard High School in Fresno, California where he played baseball and football, earning All-City honors in both sports. After high school, he attended San Diego State University where he played baseball and was drafted by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 1978 Major League Baseball draft. In a career that spanned from 1984 to 1998, Rex played for the Yankees, the Baltimore Orioles, the Montreal Expos, the St. Louis Cardinals, the California Angels and the Philadelphia Phillies. Rex Hudler was a versatile player known for his speed, fielding ability, and high energy level. He played multiple positions during his career, including third base, second base, shortstop, and outfield. Perhaps his most notable season was in 1996 when he played for the California Angels and hit .311 with six home runs, 41 RBI, and 22 stolen bases. In his career, he amassed 56 home runs, 343 RBI, and 109 stolen bases. He was known for his enthusiastic approach to the game, both on and off the field, and was a fan favorite wherever he played.

After his playing career, Rex Hudler transitioned into broadcasting, becoming an analyst for Fox Sports West, the Kansas City Royals and MLB Network. Known for his colorful personality and a seemingly boundless supply of energy, Rex became a fan favorite in the booth, bringing his unique perspective and storytelling ability to every broadcast. In addition to his broadcasting work, he has also authored two books, "Rex! The Remarkable Autobiography of Rex Hudler" and "Splinters: The Evolution of an Athlete."
