At the age of 22, Scully started his broadcasting career by calling games for the then-Boston Braves before moving to the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1950. Scully became the lead radio announcer for the Dodgers in 1953, and later added television to his commentary portfolio in 1955. He remained with the team in various capacities until he retired in 2016 at the age of 88, after completing his 67th season.

During his career, Scully narrated some of the most memorable moments in baseball history, including Hank Aaron’s 715th home run, Don Larsen’s perfect game in the 1956 World Series, and Kirk Gibson’s walk-off home run in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series. Scully was known for his storytelling abilities, bringing to life the narratives of the games and players with great detail and eloquence. His passionate and engaging style endeared him to generations of baseball fans, and he will always be remembered as one of the greatest broadcasters in the history of the sport.
