Brandon Roy was born on July 23, 1984, in Seattle, Washington. He was a standout basketball player at Garfield High School where he led his team to state championships in 2001 and 2002. Upon graduation, Roy attended the University of Washington where he continued to excel as a basketball player. After his playing days, Roy remained active in basketball. He served as the head coach at Nathan Hale High School in Seattle, where he led the team to a perfect 29-0 record and a state championship in 2017. He also served as an assistant coach at the University of Washington for a brief period in 2019. While his basketball career may have been cut short, Brandon Roy remains a beloved figure in the Pacific Northwest and is remembered as one of the most talented players of his generation.
