Brian Bosworth Autographs
Brian Bosworth, nicknamed "The Boz," was born on March 9, 1965, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He attended MacArthur High School in Lawton, Oklahoma, where he was a standout football player. After graduation, he enrolled at the University of Oklahoma, where he played linebacker for the Sooners from 1984 to 1986. During his college career, he was a two-time All-American and won the Butkus Award in 1985, which is given to the best linebacker in college football.
Bosworth was selected by the Seattle Seahawks as the 1st pick in the 1987 supplemental draft, signing a record $11 million contract for 10 years. He quickly became one of the most polarizing figures in the NFL, known for his on-field intensity and off-field antics. He was famously known for his bleach-blonde hair, his feud with the Los Angeles Raiders, and his actions in opponent’s backfield, which sometimes crossed the line. Injuries derailed his career, playing just 24 games over three seasons for the Seahawks. He retired at just 27 years old due to a shoulder injury.
After his football career, Bosworth dabbled in Hollywood movies and attempted pro wrestling. After finding little traction in those ventures, he later became a sports analyst and commentator, working for ESPN and Fox Sports. He also authored a book in 2016, titled "The Boz: Confessions of a Modern Anti-Hero." Despite his unfulfilled football career, Bosworth remains an unforgettable character for his brash personality and playing style on the field.
