Desmond Howard Autographs
Desmond Howard is a former American football player and current college football analyst for ESPN. He was born on May 15, 1970, and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He played football in high school and was named Ohio's "Mr. Football" during his senior year. Howard went on to play college football at the University of Michigan, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1991, becoming the first and only primarily special teams player to win the award.
After graduating from college, Howard was selected by the Washington Redskins in the first round of the 1992 NFL Draft. He played eight seasons in the NFL, with the Redskins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, and Green Bay Packers. Howard is best known for his exceptional play on special teams, particularly as a punt returner. He won the Super Bowl XXXI MVP award in 1997 as a member of the Packers, thanks in part to his 244 total yards and a touchdown in the game. Howard retired from the NFL in 2002, finishing his career with 4,687 all-purpose yards, 16 touchdowns, and numerous accolades for his punt return abilities.
Howard has remained heavily involved in football since retiring from the NFL. He began working as a college football analyst for ESPN in 2005 and has since become one of the network's most prominent figures. He is known for his insightful analysis and his ability to break down complex football plays in an easy-to-understand manner. Howard has also been involved in coaching, working as an assistant coach at the high school and college levels. His contributions to football, both on and off the field, have made him a beloved figure in the sport and a respected voice in the media.
