Donte Whitner was born on July 24, 1985 in Cleveland, Ohio. His football career began at Glenville High School where he showed immense talent as a safety. His impressive performances earned him a scholarship to attend Ohio State University and play for the Buckeyes. In his three years at Ohio State, Whitner was a key player in the team's strong defence, achieving an impressive 184 tackles, six interceptions, and six fumble recoveries.
