Kevin Kolb Autographs
Kevin Kolb is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for six seasons. Kolb started his football career at the University of Houston, where he played for the Cougars from 2003-2006. During his college career, he threw for 12,964 yards and 85 touchdowns, and set various school and conference records. In 2007, he was drafted in the second round (36th overall) by the Philadelphia Eagles.
After being drafted by the Eagles, Kolb spent four seasons with the team, where he served as a backup quarterback for the majority of his time. His first start came in the beginning of the 2010 season when starting quarterback Donovan McNabb was traded to the Washington Redskins. Kolb’s time as a starter was short-lived due to a concussion he received in the season opener. The following year, Kolb was again named the starting quarterback, but was ultimately benched in favor of Michael Vick after suffering a concussion in Week 2.
In 2011, Kolb was traded to the Arizona Cardinals, where he signed a six-year, $65 million contract. He started nine games over two seasons with the team before being released in 2013. Kolb retired from football in 2014, although he did attempt a comeback with the Buffalo Bills in 2015. Unfortunately, his return was again thwarted by concussions, and he was forced to retire for good. Despite his short-lived NFL career, Kolb still left a mark on the sport and will be remembered for his time as a collegiate quarterback and part-time starter in the NFL.
