Nick Fairley is a former American football defensive tackle who had a brief but promising career in the National Football League (NFL). Born on January 23, 1988, in Mobile, Alabama, Fairley attended Williamson High School before enrolling at Auburn University in 2007. Fairley was selected by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, but his professional career never quite lived up to his college success. He played for the Lions for four seasons, from 2011 to 2014, and showed flashes of brilliance at times, but struggled with injuries and inconsistency.
