Roger "Rod" Smith is a retired American football player who spent his entire 12-year career as a wide receiver for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He was born on May 15, 1970, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Smith attended Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) and played college football as a wide receiver from 1988 to 1993. In 1994, Rod Smith went undrafted in the NFL but was eventually signed by the Denver Broncos as a free agent. He started his football career as a special teams player and gradually made his way to the Broncos' starting lineup. Smith played 183 games for the Broncos and quickly became one of the greats in the team's history. He was a two-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro, and twice won the Super Bowl with the Broncos in 1998 and 1999. Smith retired from football in 2007 after a remarkable career history that includes 849 receptions, 11,389 receiving yards, and 68 touchdowns. He was inducted into the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame in 2012.

Apart from his football career, Rod Smith is also known for his philanthropy work. He founded the Rod Smith 80 Foundation, which focuses on children's health and wellness, education, and literacy programs. Smith also hosted weekly charity events while at the Denver Broncos and has received several awards for his charitable works, including the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2005. His outstanding contributions to both football and society make Rod Smith one of the most celebrated names in the NFL world.
