Boucher began his hockey career in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Tri-City Americans. In 1995, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round, 22nd overall. Boucher made his debut in the NHL on December 19th, 1999, as the Flyers faced the New York Islanders. He played a crucial role in helping the Flyers reach the Eastern Conference Finals during the 1999-2000 season. Boucher is also known for his record-breaking performance in 2003 when he became the first NHL goalie to record five consecutive shutouts.
Throughout his career, Boucher played for several NHL teams, including the Philadelphia Flyers, Phoenix Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, San Jose Sharks, and Carolina Hurricanes. Boucher was a solid goaltender who made a significant impact on every team he played for. He played 341 games in the NHL and had a career save percentage of .896. Even though he was never able to help his team win a Stanley Cup title, Boucher achieved several remarkable feats, including his five consecutive shutouts, and he earned respect and admiration from his peers.
