Gilmour’s OHL career was highly successful, as he helped lead the Royals to the Memorial Cup Championship in 1980. This success earned him a spot in the NHL draft and he was selected 134th overall by the St. Louis Blues in 1982. He quickly became one of the team’s top players, and his excellent play led to him being traded to the Calgary Flames in 1988, where he continued to put up impressive offensive numbers.

Gilmour played for several teams throughout his career, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, Buffalo Sabres, and Montreal Canadiens. He was known for his tenacity and his ability to play in all situations, as well as his offensive skills. Gilmour was also a fan favorite, being known for his hard work on the ice and his down-to-earth personality off of it. He retired in 2003 with over 1,400 career points and a reputation as one of the best all-around players of his generation. Read even more about Doug Gilmour at Wikipedia
