Mike Komisarek Autographs
Mike Komisarek was born on January 19, 1982, in West Islip, New York. He grew up playing ice hockey in his hometown before attending the University of Michigan, where he played for the Wolverines from 2000-2002. After his sophomore year, Komisarek was drafted 7th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
Komisarek made his NHL debut in the 2002-2003 season and quickly established himself as a physical defenseman. He spent 8 seasons with the Canadiens, becoming a fan favorite for his tough play and defensive prowess. Komisarek was named an NHL All-Star in 2009 and represented the United States in the 2010 Winter Olympics.
After leaving Montreal in 2009, Komisarek had stints with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes before retiring in 2014. In total, he played 551 NHL games, scoring 14 goals and 67 assists while accumulating 1133 penalty minutes. Komisarek's legacy is one of hard work and dedication to the sport, as well as a fierce competitive spirit that earned him respect both on and off the ice.
