Nathan Gerbe is a retired American professional ice hockey player who spent most of his career playing with National Hockey League (NHL) teams. Gerbe was born in Oxford, Michigan on July 24, 1987, and played his collegiate hockey at Boston College for three seasons. His junior year saw him lead the Boston College Eagles to the 2008 National Championship title, where he was also named the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP). More about Nathan Gerbe

After being drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the fifth round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Gerbe went on to make his NHL debut with the Sabres in 2008. He spent five seasons with the Buffalo Sabres before signing with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2013. During his time in the NHL, Gerbe proved to be a valuable player, consistently impressing his teammates, coaches and fans with his explosive speed, agility, and impressive work ethic on the ice.
