Sheldon Souray Autographs
Sheldon Souray is a former NHL defenseman who played for a total of 13 seasons between 1998 and 2012. Born on July 13, 1976, in Elk Point, Alberta, Souray began his hockey career playing in the junior leagues for the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League.
After being drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, Souray spent a few seasons in the team's farm system before making his debut with the Devils in December 1997. However, it was during his time with the Montreal Canadiens that Souray really began to shine. From 2000-2007, Souray was one of the top offensive defensemen in the league, earning two All-Star Game selections and leading the league in power-play goals during the 2006-2007 season.
Souray would go on to play for several other teams after his time with the Canadiens, including the Edmonton Oilers, Dallas Stars, and Anaheim Ducks. Despite dealing with injuries throughout his career, Souray was a fierce competitor on the ice, known for his hard slapshot and willingness to play a physical game. He retired from professional hockey in 2015 with a total of 109 goals and 191 assists in 758 regular season games.
