Alex Gordon is a former professional baseball player who played for the Kansas City Royals for his entire 14-year career. Gordon was born on February 10, 1984, in Lincoln, Nebraska, and attended the University of Nebraska. In 2005, he was the second overall pick in the MLB draft by the Kansas City Royals. Throughout his baseball career, Gordon was known for his exceptional fielding skills and his ability to hit for both average and power. He was a three-time All-Star and won the World Series with the Kansas City Royals in 2015. In the 2015 postseason alone, Gordon hit .241 with two home runs and eight RBIs, including a crucial game-tying home run in the ninth inning of game one of the World Series against the New York Mets.

Gordon announced his retirement after the 2020 season, leaving behind a legacy as one of the greatest players in Kansas City Royals history. He finished his career with a .257 batting average, 190 home runs, and 749 RBIs.
