Sanchez made his debut in Major League Baseball in 2006, pitching for the Florida Marlins. Throughout his career, he also played for the Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves, Minnesota Twins, and Washington Nationals. He has an impressive list of achievements, including winning the American League ERA title in 2013 with a 2.57 ERA and throwing a no-hitter against the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006 with the Marlins.

Sanchez retired from baseball in 2020 after playing for 15 seasons. He ended his career with a record of 111 wins and 110 losses with an ERA of 4.09.
