Carl Pavano Autographs

Carl PavanoCarl Pavano is a former American professional baseball player who was a starting pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 14 seasons. He was born on January 8, 1976, in New Britain, Connecticut, and attended Southington High School. In 1994, he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 13th round of the MLB draft but decided to go to college instead of signing with the team. He then attended the University of South Carolina, where he played college baseball for the Gamecocks.
Pavano started his professional baseball career in 1994 when he signed with the Montreal Expos. He made his MLB debut with the team in 1998 but struggled during his time with them, and also had stints with the Florida Marlins, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, and Minnesota Twins over the course of his career. He is best known for his performance during the 2003 playoffs, where he helped lead the Florida Marlins to their second World Series title in franchise history. Pavano went on to have his best season in 2004 while playing for the Marlins, where he had a 18-8 win-loss record, 3.00 ERA, and 139 strikeouts.
Pavano's MLB career was plagued with injuries, which limited his playing time during his later years. He suffered numerous injuries, including shoulder, elbow, and back problems, which ultimately forced him to retire at the end of the 2012 season. Despite the injuries, Pavano finished his career with a respectable record of 108-107, 4.39 ERA, and 1,039 strikeouts. He was known as a fierce competitor on the mound and was a reliable starting pitcher for most of his career. After his retirement, Pavano continues to be involved in baseball, as he has coached his son's youth baseball team and has also worked as a scout for the Red Sox.
