He is best known for his career as a pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2004 to 2017. Young grew up in a family of athletes, and his passion for sports started at a very young age. During his career, Chris Young recorded a total of 79 wins and 67 losses, with an earned run average (ERA) of 3.95. He was named to the All-Star team once in 2007, and in 2015, he won a World Series championship with the Kansas City Royals. Despite struggling with injuries throughout his career, Young remained a pivotal player on the field and was a popular teammate off the field. He eventually retired from baseball in 2017 and currently works as a Vice President for the MLB's On-Field Operations.
