Don Kelly is a former Major League Baseball player who spent 11 years in the league, playing for the Detroit Tigers, Miami Marlins, and Pittsburgh Pirates. Kelly was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, on February 15, 1980. He attended Point Park University in Pittsburgh and was an outfielder for their baseball team. During his time with the Tigers, Kelly was known for his versatility and ability to play multiple positions. He played outfield, as well as first and third base. In 2011, he hit .245 with seven home runs and 28 RBIs in 201 games. Kelly helped lead the Tigers to the World Series in 2012, where they lost to the San Francisco Giants in four games. Kelly played in three out of those four games and tallied two hits in eight at-bats.

After his time with the Tigers, Kelly played for the Marlins and Pirates before retiring in 2016. In his 11-year career, he finished with a .230 batting average, 23 home runs, and 107 RBIs. Since retiring, Kelly has remained involved in baseball and is currently serving as the first base coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Although he may not have had the most notable career in baseball history, Kelly’s versatility and work ethic made him a valuable asset to the teams he played for.
