Suzuki played for the Athletics for six seasons and was known for his strong defensive skills and ability to handle the pitching staff. In 2013, he was traded to the Washington Nationals, where he played for two seasons. During his time with the Nationals, he was named an All-Star in 2014. In 2015, Suzuki signed a free agent contract with the Minnesota Twins, where he has played since. He has continued to be a reliable catcher for the team and was named to his second All-Star game in 2019.

Throughout his career, Suzuki has been known for his work behind the plate and his ability to call a game.
