After graduation, Nolasco was drafted by the Cubs in the fourth round of the 2001 Major League Baseball draft. He spent several years in the Cubs' minor league system before making his major league debut in 2006. In 2013, he was traded to the Miami Marlins, where he spent the next three seasons. He was then traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2015, but he struggled with injuries and was eventually released.

Nolasco signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals in 2018, but he did not make the big league roster. He announced his retirement from professional baseball in November 2018. Over the course of his career, Nolasco had a record of 114 wins and 120 losses, with an earned run average of 4.56. Despite his ups and downs, Nolasco remains a respected figure in the world of baseball for his dedication to the sport and his commitment to excellence.
