Michael Wacha is a professional baseball player who was born on July 1, 1991, in Iowa City, Iowa. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in Texarkana, Texas, and subsequently attended Texas A&M University, where he played for the Aggies baseball team. Wacha made his debut in the Minor Leagues in 2012, playing for the Quad Cities River Bandits of the Midwest League.
Wacha's first breakthrough came in the 2013 Season when he played for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was instrumental in helping the team reach the World Series, pitching in the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In Game 2, Wacha struck out eight batters while allowing no runs in six and two-thirds innings. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the NLCS, and his performances during that playoff run represented one of the most impressive postseasons by a rookie.
Over the years, Wacha has continued to make significant contributions to the St. Louis Cardinals, earning three All-Star selections in his career. Throughout his career, he has compiled a record of 62-48, pitched over 960 innings, and struck out over 800 batters.
