Rod Carew Autographs

Rod CarewRod Carew is a former Major League Baseball second baseman who played for the Minnesota Twins and California Angels (now Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) from 1967 to 1985. Carew was born in Panama and moved to the United States when he was a teenager to pursue his dream of playing baseball. He became one of the most prolific players of his era, earning 18 All-Star Game selections, seven batting titles, and a no-hitter. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.
Carew was known for his speed, agility, and graceful play on the field. He was a master of the hit-and-run and bunted for hits with ease. His greatest strength was his exceptional hitting ability, as he was blessed with incredible hand-eye coordination and a sharp eye for pitches. He won his first batting title in 1969 with a .332 average and went on to win six more titles in his career, including four in a row from 1972 to 1975. In 1977, Carew hit .388, which was the highest batting average in the American League since Ted Williams hit .406 in 1941.
Carew retired from baseball after the 1985 season with a career batting average of .328, which ranks as the 24th highest in MLB history. He had a total of 3,053 hits, 1,424 runs batted in, and 353 stolen bases. He was also an exceptional fielder, winning six Gold Glove Awards for his defensive play at second base. After his baseball career, Carew remained involved in the sport as a coach and ambassador for the game. He is also known for his philanthropic efforts, including founding the Rod Carew Heart of 29 Foundation, which raises awareness for heart disease prevention and treatment.
