Roy Oswalt is a former American professional baseball pitcher, best known for his outstanding career in the Major League Baseball. He was born on August 29, 1977, in Weir, Mississippi. He started his baseball career while studying at Holmes Community College, where he secured a scholarship to play at the Northeast Community College. After being drafted by the Houston Astros in the 23rd round of the 1996 MLB Draft, Oswalt began his professional career at the Rookie League in 1997.
