Curtis Martin Autographs
Curtis Martin is a retired American football player who is widely regarded as one of the best running backs of all time. Born in 1973 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Martin grew up in a rough neighborhood and turned to football as a way to stay out of trouble. He played high school football at Taylor Allderdice High School before attending the University of Pittsburgh, where he set several school records and was a two-time All-American.
Martin was drafted by the New England Patriots in 1995 and quickly established himself as one of the best running backs in the league. He rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons and was named to the Pro Bowl twice during his time with the Patriots. In 1998, Martin signed with the New York Jets and went on to have some of the best years of his career. He rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his first eight seasons with the Jets and was named to the Pro Bowl five times. In 2004, Martin won the NFL rushing title with 1,697 yards and was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
Throughout his career, Martin was known for his work ethic and determination, as well as his ability to break tackles and gain tough yards. He retired in 2006 with 14,101 career rushing yards and 90 touchdowns, ranking him fourth on the all-time rushing list at the time. Martin was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012 and is considered one of the greatest players in NFL history. Off the field, Martin is known for his philanthropic work, including the establishment of the Curtis Martin Job Foundation, which provides job training and career development for at-risk youth.
