Dennis Dixon Autographs
Dennis Dixon is an American former football quarterback who spent six seasons in the NFL. Born on January 11, 1985, in San Leandro, California, he attended San Leandro High School, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. Dixon was one of the most dynamic high school quarterbacks in California, and as a result, he was offered a scholarship to the University of Oregon, where he played for the Ducks from 2004 to 2007.
A dual-threat quarterback, Dixon became the starting quarterback for Oregon halfway through his sophomore year. In 2007, Dixon led the Ducks to an 8-1 record and a No. 2 ranking in the country before suffering a season-ending injury against Arizona. Despite his injury, he was named as a Heisman Trophy candidate and was a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award for the best quarterback in college football. He finished his college career completing 573 of 949 passes for 7,384 yards, 53 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions.
Dixon was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He spent his rookie season as a backup and appeared in one game. Dixon played the next four seasons with the Steelers, with his best season coming in 2009 when he started two games, completing 27 of 48 passes for 314 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. After leaving the Steelers, Dixon had short stints with the Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, and Buffalo Bills, but he did not appear in any regular-season games. He retired from professional football in 2015, with a career total of 35 completions on 59 attempts for 402 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.
