Alan Trammell Autographs
Alan Trammell is a former Major League Baseball shortstop and manager, born on February 21st, 1958, in Garden Grove, California. He played his entire career with the Detroit Tigers, from 1977 until 1996. Trammell was a six-time All-Star and a four-time Gold Glove Award winner, and he helped lead the Tigers to their 1984 World Series championship.
Trammell made his Major League debut in 1977 as a 19-year-old for the Tigers. In his first full season, Trammell established himself as one of the league's top shortstops, hitting .268 with six home runs and 38 stolen bases. His best year came in 1987, when he hit .343 with 28 home runs and 105 RBI. Trammell was also a key part of the Tigers' championship team in 1984, hitting .450 with two home runs and six RBI in the World Series.
After his playing career, Trammell moved into coaching and managing. He served as a coach for several teams, including the San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Chicago Cubs. In 2003, he was named the manager of the Detroit Tigers, a position he held until 2005. He later managed the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2014. Trammell was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2018, recognizing his successful career as a player and his contributions to the game as a coach and manager.
