Aramis RamirezAramis Ramirez is a former professional baseball player with an impressive career spanning over 18 years. He was born on June 25, 1978, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and was signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates as an amateur free agent in 1994. Ramirez started playing in the minor leagues at the young age of 17 and worked his way up to the majors in 1998.
Ramirez established himself as one of the most consistent players in the league during his career. He played third base for the Pirates, Chicago Cubs, and Milwaukee Brewers, earning three All-Star selections and a Silver Slugger award. He also helped lead the Cubs to the National League Championship Series in 2003, where they lost to the Florida Marlins in seven games. In 2015, Ramirez announced his retirement from baseball, finishing his career with a .283 batting average, 386 home runs, and 1,417 runs batted in.
In addition to his success on the field, Ramirez is also known for his philanthropic efforts off the field. He started the Aramis Family Foundation in 2008 to support education and health initiatives for underprivileged children and families in his native Dominican Republic and the United States.
