Buck Showalter Autographs
Buck Showalter is a former American baseball manager who has left an indelible mark in Major League Baseball, (MLB). Born in 1956 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Showalter started his career as a baseball player, but he eventually transitioned to coaching and managing. He began his MLB career in 1977 with the Norfolk Tides, and he rapidly progressed as their top winning manager. He also occupied the top post in other teams, including New York Yankees, Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers, and Baltimore Orioles, where he spent the maximum time of his career.
Showalter’s stint as the Baltimore Orioles’ manager from 2010 to 2018 was the peak of his career. He entered the team when it was going through a tough phase with an almost diminishing fan base. However, after his arrival, the team made a complete turnaround, going from a perennial loser to finally becoming a powerhouse. Showalter’s managerial skills helped the team to three postseason appearances, including the American League East Division championship in 2014.
During his long-standing career, Showalter has also won numerous awards, including the American League Manager of the Year thrice, once when he was with the New York Yankees in 1994, and twice in a row when he headed the Texas Rangers from 2004 to 2006. Showalter is remembered as a tenacious manager with a strong work ethic who would go to any extent to ensure his team’s success. At present, he works as an analyst for the ESPN Sports Network.
