Jayson Werth is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) outfielder who had an impressive career spanning over a decade. Born on May 20, 1979, in Springfield, Illinois, he made his professional debut with the Baltimore Orioles in 2002. Werth was primarily known for his abilities as a right fielder but could also play center field when needed. Over his career, he played for five MLB teams, including the Orioles, Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, and Washington Nationals. More about Jayson Werth

Werth's most successful years were with the Phillies, where he won a World Series championship in 2008 and was named to the National League All-Star team in 2009. He was also an essential player in the Phillies' National League Championship victories in 2009 and 2010. In 2010, Werth was a sought-after free agent, and he ultimately signed with the Washington Nationals, where he spent the rest of his career.

Over the course of his MLB career, Werth was known for his excellent hitting abilities. He had a career batting average of .267 with 229 home runs, 799 runs batted in (RBI), and 1,465 hits. Werth was also a solid fielder throughout his career, with a fielding percentage of .983.
