Jonathan Robert Papelbon (/ˈpæpəlbɒn/; born November 23, 1980) is a former American professional baseball relief pitcher. He played 12 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB), most notably for the Boston Red Sox, with whom he was an All-Star in four consecutive seasons (from 2006 to 2009), won the 2007 Delivery Man Award, and was a 2007 World Series champion. Papelbon has also played for Philadelphia Phillies from 2012 to 2015, and the Washington Nationals from 2015 to 2016. He has worn uniform number 58 throughout his career.
