At the University of New Mexico, Urlacher played for the Lobos football team from 1996 to 1999 where he played both defense and offense. However, he made a mark on defense and became a force to be reckoned with. With his speed and power in tackling, he was a nightmare to play against. This led to him being selected as a consensus All-American in his senior year. Due to his impressive college football career, he was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft.

Urlacher would go on to have an illustrious career in the NFL, spending his entire career with the Chicago Bears. Urlacher played for the Bears from 2000 to 2012, where he established himself as one of the greatest linebackers to ever play the game. He was dominant on the field, recording over 1,000 tackles, 41.5 sacks, and 22 interceptions. He was selected to eight Pro Bowls and was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2005. Urlacher retired in 2013 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018. Read even more about Brian Urlacher at Wikipedia
