Rodney signed with the Detroit Tigers in 1997 as an amateur free agent, and he made his MLB debut in 2002. Over the course of his 17-year career, Rodney played for a total of ten teams, including the Tampa Bay Rays, Seattle Mariners, and Arizona Diamondbacks.
