Fernando Rodney is a former professional baseball player from the Dominican Republic. Born on March 18, 1977, he grew up in the town of Samana, where he began playing baseball at a young age. Rodney signed with the Detroit Tigers in 1997 as an amateur free agent, and he made his MLB debut in 2002. Rodney was known for his unique pitching style, which included a distinctive sideways cap and a dart-like delivery.
