Jason Giambi is a former American professional baseball first baseman and designated hitter. He was born in West Covina, California, on January 8, 1971. Giambi was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 1992 and made his MLB debut in 1995. He quickly established himself as one of the top power hitters in the league during his tenure with the A's, earning five All-Star selections and an American League MVP Award in 2000.
