Jhonny Peralta Autographs
Jhonny Peralta was born on May 28, 1982, in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. He began his professional baseball career with the Cleveland Indians in 2003, playing 66 games as a rookie. Peralta quickly established himself as a versatile player capable of playing shortstop, second base and third base. In 2005, he became the Indians' starting shortstop and went on to hit .292 with 24 home runs and 78 RBI.
Peralta played for the Indians for eight seasons, earning two All-Star selections in 2011 and 2013. In 2010, he helped lead the team to the playoffs for the first time since 2007. After the 2010 season, Peralta became a free agent and signed a two-year deal with the Detroit Tigers. He played for the Tigers for two seasons, hitting .275 with 31 home runs and 100 RBI, before being traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in 2014. He spent three seasons with the Cardinals, hitting .263 with 38 home runs and 156 RBI, before being released in 2017.
Despite being implicated in the Biogenesis scandal in 2013 and serving a 50-game suspension, Peralta was able to bounce back and continue his successful career. He retired in 2018 with a career batting average of .267, 201 home runs, and 826 RBI. He was known for his versatility in the field, leadership qualities, and ability to hit in clutch situations. He was a key contributor to several playoff teams throughout his career, including the 2011 and 2013 Detroit Tigers and the 2014 St. Louis Cardinals.
